The University Park Interfraternity Council (UPIFC) is responsible for organizing and overseeing the formal rush process. This week-long process at the beginning of each semester includes a series of events where potential new members (PNMs) interact with each fraternity.
The first few days of Rush are house tours. House tours allow PNMs to see the house, meet the brothers, and learn more about each fraternity’s values, culture, and environment.
During Rush, PNMs may be invited to events. These events are intended to further introduce the PNMs to brothers. PNMs will be more informed about the fraternity.
During the Rush period, PNMs, may receive "a bid" or a formal invitation to join the fraternity and begin the process of becoming a fully initiated brother.
